Securing a Partner

Executive Summary

Once you have determined your goals, the next steps are:

  • Create an EPP target list and begin outreach

  • Connect Reach University with your EPP

  • Launch

Create an EPP Target List & Begin Outreach

Once you have determined your goals, create a list of potential education preparation providers (EPPs) and begin outreach.

To build your list of potential education preparation providers (EPPs), consider:

  • Which colleges or universities are in your area?

  • Which colleges or universities has your district worked with in the past?

  • Do any colleges or universities in your area have strong existing teacher preparation programs?

The following are questions to ask prospective partners:

  • Which degree programs do they offer (e.g. AA, BA, MA)?

  • Are these teaching degree programs?

  • What are their entry points? In other words, can they serve candidates whether they have no college credit, AA, etc.?

  • Are they interested in partnering with you to create an apprenticeship-based degree program?

  • How many students can they serve?

  • Can they help you meet your goals?

Determine which partner you would most like to work with based on your goals.

Connect Reach University with Your EPP

The role of your EPP will be to design and implement the apprenticeship-based teaching degree program. There are a number of steps they will need to take to do this in order to launch the program.

Reach University can provide technical assistance, including training, resources, and guidance, to Education Preparation Providers (EPPs) who are implementing an apprenticeship-based degree program. Once you have identified an EPP that you would like to work with, or if there is one that would like more information about the process and available support, please connect them with your point of contact at Reach University or email ta@reach.edu.

Launch

Once the program launches, your role as a district will be to manage your apprentices. Additional information is here.
